I went the hospital this morning to take milk for Logan and saw huge changes when I got there. His bubble is gone!!! He’s completely off oxygen and his levels are holding strong. He looked like a “normal” baby! His respiration rate was between 60 & 70 and he looked very happy and peaceful on his tummy. His doctor said that he should be up to full feeds by tomorrow night. Then she’ll evaluate his breathing to see if we can start trying to nurse. The suck, breathe, swallow sequence can be tricky for babies…especially preemies, so I’m hoping he’ll be able to handle it without much trouble.
The biggest news for the day is that I get to kangaroo with him! This will be my first time holding him and I’m beyond excited to snuggle with this little guy!! I think he’s excited too…I caught a little smile this morning. 🙂
Ok, I think I have decided that he looks more like Macy in his smiling picture!
