I am thankful for my entire day yesterday because it was a day that I had been hoping and praying for since I was pregnant with Macy. What big monumental day was it, you ask? The day before Thanksgiving break! (Don’t worry, an explanation is coming) For the past 6 years I’ve spent this day with 2nd graders. It was a fun day because our school holds an annual Book Parade on this day. Every class chooses a book and then creates a banner and then dresses in costumes related to their book…then everyone in the school parades down the street for everyone to see. For the past 6 years I’ve spent this day coloring a banner, retying a piggy nose, or adjusting mouse ears…and trying to keep 20ish VERY excited 7 year olds under control. 😉 It’s a fun and exhausting day!
The reason I’m so thankful for my entire day yesterday is because this year I wasn’t adjusting the costumes of 2nd graders, but the costumes of Macy and Steven at our preschool Thankgiving feast. I’m thankful because I wasn’t marching in the parade waving at all the people, but I was standing on the sidelines telling Macy to wave at all the kids in the parade. It was a fun and exhausting day…spent with my babies! I’m so thankful to have this time with them!
One of my little Native Americans…with a mouth full of food!!

Here’s the other one…

The grand marshals of the parade (two teachers and our assistant principal who all retired last year) in their tiaras and boas. Looking fabulous! 🙂

One of the classes who chose Arthur’s Thanksgiving.

My favorite parade watchers. 😉 Macy loved her first parade…she loved seeing a firetruck again and watching all the kids. Steven was tired, hungry, and poopy, but was VERY patient.

One of the other random (and rather dull) things that I’m thankful for tonight are my pj pants. These aren’t just any pj pants…they are LONG pj pants! Only tall people will appreciate how incredibly hard it is to find pj pants that come down past your ankles. It’s hard. Well my wonderful mother (who I’m also thankful for, but that’s for another day) found some and brought me 2 pairs when she came to visit. So tonight I’m thankful as I sit in my long pj pants and watch Knotting Hill (one of my favorites). What a great night!
Look at how they almost “pool” around my feet! And the other pair is even a little longer! It’s the little things. 😉

Oohh! Oohh! Please do tell where she found you some long pj pants!! This tall friend will greatly appreciate it (especially when the bottom half of my legs are freezing while trying to get my child back to sleep in the middle of the night)!
Ok, and as the tallest of us all, yes, please do tell!!!!!
She got them at Stein Mart (I can’t remember if that’s one word or two) and they were only $10! I haven’t washed them yet, so that will be the true test. The longer pair is light blue with snowmen (they’re in the washing machine, so I can’t get to the brand name). The pair in the picture is white with a light blue and navy diamond pattern. Their brand is Jasmine Roee (I think…it’s written in cursive and kind of hard to read) Both pairs are flannel, but they’re pretty thin (I’m not a flannel fan and I can handle these). I hope y’all can find them. I’m going to go in the spring and look to see if they have any that aren’t flannel out…when you find long pj’s you have to stock up! 😉
