LPC had an Easter egg hunt Saturday morning, so Doug’s mom and I took Macy and Steven.  The hunt was in an incredible neighborhood that Doug and I absolutely love.  This neighborhood has a huge lodge in the very back that has it’s own pool (and you can’t see it, but the river runs right behind it).  It’s gorgeous!!!

We all met in the lodge first which was nice because it was a chilly morning.  The fireplace was awesome!

Steven wasn’t having a very good hat day…sorry little guy, but that was my only option.

We had practiced putting eggs in Macy’s basket at home Friday night, so she was ready to go!

She loved finding her eggs!

This girl loves her duck basket…especially when it’s full of eggs!

The older preschoolers scooped up the eggs pretty fast, so I thought I’d take one out of Macy’s basket and put it by the pinwheel flowers for her to “find”…unfortunately Macy’s too smart for her mom and decided that since I took one egg out and put it by the flowers then she should take all of the other eggs out of her basket and put them by the flowers too! I never know what she’s going to do next!

Macy loved the pinwheel flowers.  It was a breezy day, so some of them were really spinning.

One of the first things Macy did with her eggs was open them.  I was kind of hoping that she wouldn’t think of opening them because I didn’t know what would be inside.  She’s been cutting some molars (for about 3 months!) and will put anything and everything in her mouth to try and sooth her gums, so I was waiting for the egg goodies to be eaten wrapper and all.  Thankfully she was easily distracted so we were able to snatch the candy while she wasn’t looking.

Another perk of this neighborhood is the playground (it actually has 2!) and since Macy loves to swing we had to make a stop at the swings…she wouldn’t trust anyone to hold her loot. 😉

We had a great time hunting eggs.  I’m so excited about celebrating Easter next Sunday.  Steven goes to the doctor tomorrow for his 2 month well visit and I’m hoping that his doctor will say that it will be okay to have them in the nursery for church.  If not, then we’ll be celebrating the resurrection in our living room.  Either way I’m excited about sharing my favorite holiday with my family.
