We had a busy weekend. We had to say bye to Grams Saturday morning so she could get to Meridian for my nephew’s birthday party. She’s been here a week and a half which was a HUGE help since I’ve gone back to work. I treasured every hour of sleep that she gave me! Whenever Grams leaves our entire family goes through “Grams Detox” for a couple of days. Macy is irritable and Doug and I have to get back to reality (which can make us a little irritable as well). Thankfully Omie is starting to feel better so she will get to come over again this week to play!
Saturday was a fun day because one of my students from last year invited me to her soccer game.  Macy and I went to one of her games last year, but it was fun for Macy to watch part of the game this year.  Of coarse sitting on our blanket and packing and unpacking my bag was even more fun, so she spent most of her time doing that. 😉

You know my child has to have her sunglasses.

Give this girl a full bag and she’ll be busy for hours!

Proof there really was a soccer game going on. 🙂
After the game Macy and I went to the grocery store to get things for our cul-de-sac cookout.

We love living in our cul-de-sac.  Everyone is around our ages and feels like a large (slightly dis functional) family. 😉 We have a 3 year old, a 2 year old (Macy…she’s close enough to 2), a 1 year old, and 3 babies 4 months and under in our little cul-de-sac, so the few families without kids are careful not to drink the water. 😉  It’s not only great that we can all hang out, but it’s also comforting to know that if we ever needed anything that we have so many people close by that would be willing to help.  One of my neighbors has actually borrowed a cup of sugar…love it!
Anyway, Saturday night we had our 2nd cul-de-sac cookout.  Doug and I organized our first one and sent invitaions to everyone on our little street, but since the only people that came were the people we always hang out with anyway, this one was a little smaller.  This picture is from the first cookout…there are so many people because a lot of our neighbors’ families came too (between birthday parties and football games we all know each others families too).  The absolute best part of these events is that when bedtime comes for Macy I can go ahead and put her to bed and then go back outside…cranky kid no more! 🙂

Sunday was a quiet day.  I was able to take a 3 hour nap…which makes any day a great day!  Steven had some tummy issues, so he wanted to be held a lot…napping and holding a baby…ahhhhh.
The countdown is on for the end of school!  Four more full weeks and then the last week is one full day and two half days (so I’m not counting it).  I think I can; I think I can; I think I can….
