It seems like it’s been a long time since I’ve posted, but actually I’ve been posting like crazy from my phone…unfortunately (because my husband is SO much more technically savvy than I am) our server had to be switched, so none of my posts have actually made it to the website. No problem…I can always go back and retype those after he switches the settings on my phone…I’ll get some pictures up that are on my camera…sigh…If only it were that easy. I just tried to upload some pictures to post and was given a big fat rejection. Technology hates me.
But I refuse to give up! You probably won’t be able to see pictures for a couple more days, but I can at least catch you up with the happenings around here (and since both kids are actually sleeping at the same time, I’m scared that if I don’t do it now, it might not happen again for another 2 weeks!)
Mom and Dad came to visit the first weekend in October. They were able to fly this time (joy!), so we had 2 1/2 full days to hang out. We decided to take our annual trip to the “pumpkin patch”…the one that’s not really a patch…more of a porch with pumpkins on it. It was a beautiful day to play among the pumpkins and get us feeling nice and “fallish”.
Macy and Steven had colds while my parents were in town, but nothing that kept them down. Macy went through her usual “Grams detox” and didn’t go to bed until 10:15 the night that they went home. Thankfully, Omie was able to come keep both kids on Tuesday so they could have a break between the busy weekend and going to preschool. I got Macy up and ready for school on Wednesday and thought something was off with her. I debated leaving her home for another day with Omie, but figured that it was just more detox and she would be fine at school. Note to self…go with your gut. She acted fine at school, but had a fever of almost 102 by the time we got home (I’m waiting for my “Parent of the Year” trophy to arrive any day now). She was pitiful! So off to the doctor we go to get an antibiotic for an ear infection. Needless to say, the next day Macy was at home with Omie.
With Macy at home, Steven and I went to school the next day. It was the day the firetruck came to visit. I hated that Macy missed it, but Steven had a blast. He even got to sit in the driver’s seat!
On Saturday, we went over to Brian and Louisa’s house. They were out of town for their anniversary and Doug’s parents were staying with the kids. Macy had such a good time playing with her cousins! It’s so fun now that she can interact with them some. We came home in time for naps, then went to our neighbor’s to watch the Gamecocks defeat Alabama! (It was a very good night to be a Gamecock fan!!)
This past Monday, Steven decided that he wanted to try this whole sitting up thing. He’s doing really well (when he wants to)!
We went to school on Tuesday and while we were there Macy developed a mysterious rash on her legs…awesome. So back to the doctor we went to find out that she’s allergic to penicillin and to get ANOTHER antibiotic for the same ear infection. No more amoxicillin for Macy. 🙁
The rest of our week has been pretty smooth…thankfully, because Doug and I are exhausted. Today is a B-e-a-utiful day! I took the kids on a walk then we came home and had a picnic in the front yard. You’ll get to see pictures eventually. :p
Well, I think that’s all that you’ve missed over the past 2 weeks. Hopefully Doug can get everything straightened out, so I can keep you up to date…because our lives are SO exciting. 😉

But I LOVE your new fallish background 🙂 I was wondering where you’ve been…everyday logging on and seeing poor Emmie in her diaper! Sorry Macy has been sick, what did they switch her to? I bet Steven loved the firetruck! So excited he’s sitting up like a big boy now, sweet baby! Can’t wait to see y’all!!
Sure hope the technical part gets fixed soon and we get to see Steven and Macy’s smiling faces soon as Emmie is beginning to look a little creepy (no offense Macy).
YAY! A new post! Glad I’m not the only one who was seeing Emmie a little too often lately 🙂
See, Jenn, we are all hanging on your every post 🙂 Hope the technology wasn’t too stressful and hope the kiddos can both be all healthy and enjoy this Fall 🙂
yeah, we were all bummed to keep seeing emmie again as you can tell by our posts….i’m with omie, she was starting to look a little creepy! LOL
Thanks Lori…I was really excited about our fallish background. There are zillions cute of backgrounds if you’re on blogspot and about 5 if you have a wordpress site, so finding a cute one is an accomplishment (and chore). Doug’s been incredibly busy lately, but I’m hoping that he’ll be able to get me back on picture posting soon. I agree that Emmie’s picture is pretty creepy! (Our kids are MUCH cuter ;))
Ditto to the CREEPY baby…time to goooooo!
Glad everyone is feeling better…and hopefully allowing mom and dad to get some rest.
Can’t wait to see Stephen sitting up 🙂
Wait…where did my post gooooooo…………………
