Pumpkin Patch

Grams and Oppie came in town for a visit last weekend.  As usual, we crammed as much as possible into the 3 days they were here.  On Friday we went to the zoo which was a lot of fun because it was the 1st time Steven was able to get out of the stroller to see the animals, but there aren’t any pictures because it was the 1st time Steven was able to get out of the stroller to see the animals and he didn’t stop running the entire time!
Oppie got a lot of snuggle time feeding Logan.  It was the 1st time he had seen Logan since he was born, so he was surprised to see how big he’s getting.

On Saturday we had our traditional trip to the pumpkin patch.  We switched pumpkin patches this year to a church that sells hundreds of pumpkins on their front lawn.  It was really cool because they had all types (never knew there were green pumpkins!) and sizes (never seen pumpkins that big!).
It was like a pumpkin wonderland where the kids could just run up and down the rows of pumpkins.

When it came time to choose one, it was very tricky.

Macy picked up about 100 pumpkins, but would decide that the one she had was “too wet”, “too flat”, “too dirty”, “too orange” (yep, she really said it).  This was one of the “flawed” pumpkins that I thought might make the cut…nope.

Steven, on the other hand, would have probably just grabbed any pumpkin to bring home.

He was more interested in running than choosing a pumpkin though.

But he finally stopped running (aka was caught) and found a little pumpkin to bring home.

We ended up with 5 pumpkins (apparently the little pumpkins are flawless because Macy tried to bring all of them home with us)!  I’ll try to remember to add a picture of all of our pumpkins soon.
Sunday was a quiet day with just a walk around the neighborhood to see the Halloween decorations (yes, that’s right, I said Halloween decorations…including lights!).  As usual we had a great time with Grams and Oppie and can’t wait for them to come and visit again (hint  hint)!! 😉
