Operation bulb is underway!

My mom and Stephanie got some bulbs from Steph’s church’s fall festival and mom said that she would split hers with my while we were there for Thanksgiving.   I had no idea how many bulbs she had!  They got a ton of all different kinds of bulbs!  I was so excited because I had wanted to get some tulips for the spring since I won’t be up for any kind of planting this spring.  I warned Doug last night that “Operation Bulb” would begin this morning because it’s supposed to start raining this afternoon and last through the weekend (last weekend was packed, so there wasn’t time to get this many bulbs planted…there are probably 100!) and since one of us has to keep an eye on Macy so she doesn’t roll down our driveway, it has to be a 2 man job.  He graciously accepted the plan without knowing that it was supposed to be FREEZING today.
We all bundled up and headed out to get “Operation Bulb” underway.  Macy was bundled in her hat, coat, coat hood, and mittens…and she actually kept everything on (I was shocked!).  She was adorable bundled up, but our neighbors all came over to admire Doug’s girly gardening gloves and distracted me from taking any pictures.  I’ll have to take some the next time we get her all bundled up.  She had a great time playing outside in the freezing cold and didn’t want to come in for lunch.  She and I came in after about an hour of planting (or standing around and watching) and Doug followed about 30 minutes later with all the bulbs nestled snug in the ground!
Hopefully with that many bulbs planted, something will come up that we can enjoy this spring! 🙂
