I’m getting really tired of rewriting posts because my phone eats the first one….oh well.
Steven was a very sleepy baby this morning when I tried to give him a bottle this morning. He’s eating 32mL at each feeding, but only got through 10 this morning before he completely passed out on me. His nurse said that she would give him the rest through his feeding tube and then try another bottle later.
He’s 4 pounds now and his nurse practitioner said that if he holds onto his weight and doesn’t need the bili lights again, then he’ll probably be put in an open air bed soon. His bilirubin is 10.8 and the magic number that will put him back under lights is 11….he loves to keep us wondering!
I’m going to start trying to nurse tomorrow. The lactation specialist said not to expect much at first…after his bottle this morning I’ll be impressed if he opens his eyes. 😉
I was able to get a picture of him in his outfit yesterday. His IV is out of his head and in an arm now. He’s completely off fluids now and only has 1 more day of his antibiodics so hopefully the IV will come out in the next couple of days (I might have already updated on that, but I couldn’t remember). I also got a picture of him snuggling under his blanket after we kangarooed this morning. Sweet little guy!
