Steven is still doing really well. He has lost a little weight and is down to 3lbs 8 oz, but has handled it well. His biliruben is down from 12 to 8.2. He needs to get it between 6 and 7 before they can take him off the phototherapy, but they have gone from 2 lights to only 1. He’s breathing completely on his own and has been doing well with it since they took the little tube out of his nose on Friday. He’s still having random decelerations of his heartbeat, but is still selfcorrecting them , so his doctor isn’t going to do anything for it unless he isn’t able to correct them on his own. He has increased his feedings to 4ml every 3 hours. They are offering one feeding a day in a bottle. If he tolerates it well they will begin offering another feeding a day until they are able to take his feeding tube out completely. He’s doing well with wet and dirty diapers, so that’s a good sign that his body is taking the milk well. He has to gain more weight before he can go from his “container” to more of the open air. It will be nice when we don’t have to open a little door to touch him. It’s getting late, so that’s all the updates I can think of. Thanks for all of your continued support and prayers. I’ll keep you posted. 🙂
