I have to appologize to my loyal blog checkers who have been very disappointed in the lack of posts over the past couple months. Working, chasing a toddler, and being pregnant (and feeling really gross for a really long time) haven’t made me the most loyal blogger, but I’m feeling better now and hope to get back into the groove.
Macy has really been changing lately. She’s talking all the time. I tried to make a list of the words she says (and actually knows what they mean) last month, but it was so hard not to miss things. I think I got to 125ish before I gave up. Just this week she has started responding to questions. She still gets very confused (and frustrated) sometimes when we ask her something, but I can see the wheels turning. Unfortunately the only response to a yes/no question that she knows right now is “no”, so sometimes it’s hard to tell if she really means no or if that’s the only response she knows how to give but she really does want what you’re offering. We’re working on “yes”, so hopefully she’ll pick it up soon!
With her new knowledge has come a few more tantrums. I think sometimes she’ll just throw herself on the floor and spaz out for a little while just for the fun of it…luckily for her we have carpet! Now we have the task of choosing our battles and figuring out what we’re going to stick to and what we’ll let slide…this parenting stuff is tricky!
As Macy grows her baby brother or sister has been growing as well. I’ve already been feeling this baby move for almost a month now (and I’m only 19 weeks), so that has been a sweet treat as I go throughout my crazy days. We have decided to find out the gender of this baby, mostly for the logistics of if Macy moves to the smaller spare room then we need to know if our new baby is going to be okay with a pink room. Our appointment is November 18, so only a week and a half to go! 🙂
Well, that’s mostly what’s going on with us (not much to report after a couple months of morning sickness). I do have some photos from Halloween to upload. Hopefully I can get those this weekend for all the curious grandparents. 🙂
