Day 1: Ask “What is one thing we can do together this month?”
Honestly I’m still trying to figure this one out.  There are a lot of things that (in a perfect world) I’d love for us to do as a family, but figuring out something that’s actually possible for us to do this month is a different story.  So, unless I think of something better, we are going to go to the State Museum as a family this month.  Doug got free passes and it’s air conditioned…sounds perfect. 😉
Day 2: Go the whole day without yelling at your children
Now here’s a funny story…I decided to take this challenge Thursday night.  I was already sleep deprived and didn’t really focus on Day 2 to know what I needed to be thinking about when I woke up the next morning.  Well, Thursday night was rough.  Logan had slept a lot during the day and decided to stay up until 3am and was fussy unless he was being held.  The Mom Challenge didn’t cross my mind until I put the kids down for a nap(at 2pm) and I had a second to think.  I went to the computer to see what I was supposed to have been doing all day.  All I could think was, “Gee, I hope that today isn’t the “don’t yell at your kids” day”…oops.  Just thinking that made me realize how guilty I’ve been of yelling lately…I don’t like it.  I know some of it comes from lack of sleep…I’m not as patient…but that just means that I need to be more conscious of it.  I committed to not yelling for the rest of the day and I liked that mommy much better.
Day 3: Hug your children 3 times today
Yes please! Logan can’t help but to be hugged…it’s what babies do.  Steven was having a rough day with his teeth, so he was more than willing to accept extra snuggles.  Macy is an independent 3 year old.  She wants to do everything by herself…every single thing, but she had a sweet grin on her face when I asked for extra hugs throughout the day.
I love being challenged in my mommyhood!
