Happy birthday Grams!!!

This was the first time my mom has been here on her birthday, so we were determined to make it great and because my mom is the hardest person in the ENTIRE world to spoil, we took the food route. 😉  We started celebrating Wednesday night (her birthday was on Thursday) with what might be the most delicious cake EVER!

Macy was more than happy to help Grams blow out the candle!

I didn’t get any other pictures, but I think she had a good birthday.  I baked orange sweet rolls for breakfast.  Ruth came over, so mom and I were able to go out to lunch and do a little shopping.  It was the first time that we have been able to go out for fun since I went on bed rest in April!!  Mom’s birthday dinner was a very yummy burger from Fudruckers and she had a baby-free night (unfortunately it was because she was driving home the next day ;( ).  But she was able to drive away with her very own iced tea maker..she learned how to use mine while she was here, so if you’re over at the Smith house ask for some tea. 😉
She’s helped us so much this year (and my entire life) that I really wanted to make her feel appreciated and loved on her special day…hopefully I was successful.  Happy birthday mom!!!!! 🙂

    1. It’s called “raspberry elegance”. It’s yellow cake with raspberry filling between layers and cream cheese icing…it’s incredible!!

  2. Yes, the cake was fabulous!! Now I just have to lose the extra 10 pounds I gained while being fed by the ladies at First Pres. Lexington for 4 months 🙂
It was a great birthday…thanks Jenn and Doug!
