This update’s a day late, so hopefully I’ll have more news later. Logan’s feeding tube was back in when I went to nurse him yesterday at 2pm. His nurse said that he took all of his night feedings and first morning feeding well, but that he was too worn out to drink his 11am bottle so she put his tube back in. He was still exhausted when I tried to nurse…poor little guy wouldn’t wake up at all (and now that I think about it, I could have gotten some hilarious pictures), so we just snuggled while he got that feeding through his tube as well. I’m not surprised that he’s having to have some of his feedings by tube again. It takes a lot of work for those little guys to eat…he actually lost an ounce overnight from the energy he was exerting. It surprised me that they took his tube out without 24 hours of successful bottle feeds under his belt, but maybe they had high hopes because he had done so well with his 4 a day feedings.
The only other news is that he moved into the overflow room which they’re using as a “eat and grow” room right now with Logan and one other baby. It’s much quieter in there since there’s only 1 other baby so hopefully he can get more rest for his marathon feedings. 🙂
