"Couponing" Momma

Anyone who knows me well knows that I LOVE saving money and stretching a dollar to it’s limit. Doug and I are going to be starting a strict budget next month, so I’m taking on the task of getting all we need for less money.
My friend Conner turned me on to the Money Saving Mom which I have quickly fallen in love with. There are women who have links on her blog that can go into CVS and buy $90 worth of merchandise for $10!!! (I saw a woman on the Today show do it too) These women are “professional” coupon shoppers, but I figure that if I learn as much as I can and do the best with the time I have then at least I’ll be saving a little money.
This morning my trip to Target was my first true strategic coupon shopping and I was happy with the results. My total went from $41.40 to $34.23! I had $7.17 worth of savings with my coupons! I ended up getting $10 diapers for $7 with a $3 off coupon and $7 light bulbs for $4 with a $1 manufactures coupon and a $2 Target coupon! The light bulbs were my true “strategic couponing” experience. 😉 I’m excited about my new efforts to save our family a little cash each month. I’ll try not to post all of my receipts. 😉
