Last weekend

Our weekend started early with a surprise birthday party last Thursday night.  One of our friends was turning 40, so his wife put together an awesome surprise party for him at a rollerskating rink!  Complete with t-shirts and a visit from Mr. Telegram (who apparently is a local celebrity around here…I learn something new every day), Cliff was completely surprised and everyone had a great time.  We didn’t get to skate because Macy started melting down around 7:30…probably best since I’m not so good at staying upright with wheels strapped to my feet.

The front of the t-shirts said “40 isn’t old…if you’re a TREE” (by the way, there was a mass rush to pass out t-shirts and put them on over our clothes so everyone would have one.  In that rush someone that Macy didn’t know ran over to her and put the shirt on.  If I could have only taken a picture of Macy’s face while this lady dressed her, it was priceless!)

The back of the shirt said “Cliff is OLD”

Macy did her first “Hokey Pokey” with “Uncle” Bobby. 🙂
Saturday we went to Little Isaac’s 2nd birthday party.  Where Macy was able to play on the playground and in the church gym with basketballs….two of her favorite things.  Macy is so funny…sometimes she clings to me and sometimes she just takes off on her own.  Saturday she went and played with girls at the party who were probably 7 or 8.  She even went over and told them when Zoe got to the party.  I love watching her personality blossom!
Sunday was Mother’s Day.  We went over to Brian’s house for lunch with the Adam family.  Lunch was delicious (courtesy of our awesome neighbor!).  Macy went to the playroom with Reese and Elizabeth and had a blast!  The girls colored and danced to songs on the Disney Network.  It was kind of an odd feeling not to have to keep a constant eye on her, but it was great to know that she had such a good time with her cousins!

Steven had a great nap on Omie while Omie enjoyed some snuggle time.

Omie and her grandchildren.

I tried to get a picture to show how dirty Macy was by the end of the day (because you know that the toddler fun scale is measured by how dirty the toddler actually is)

She is so sweet to her “Emmie”.

Sunday night was also Macy’s first night in her new bed…which she went to sleep in without a single peep (my Mother’s Day gift from Macy).  Bye bye pack ‘n play!
