I must have lost my mind!

My friends Katie called last night and said that she and Amber had decided to put together a 5K for June 12…just for fun and motivation.  Katie’s husband is going to design t-shirts and the race will end at Katie’s neighborhood pool.  At first I honestly thought she was calling to see if I could time them or something…nope, they want me to run.  I told her that it sounded like fun and I was excited about being held accountable to exercise.  Then I hung up the phone and remembered I DON’T RUN….I’m not talking about I don’t run right now because I had a baby in January and just haven’t gotten back to it, I’m talking about I DON’T RUN.  I was thinking positively though and figured I’d just look up the “Couch to 5K” website, follow their training schedule, buy a REALLY good sports bra, and be okay…I started to freak out just a little when I saw that their training schedule will get you off the couch and running 5K in 9 weeks…I only have 4 1/2.  So I have 4 1/2 weeks to train while I’m working full time, nursing/pumping, getting up with my 3 month old during the night, and taking care of a toddler……hmmmm…..this will be interesting, but I’m determined to at least give it a shot.  Thank goodness it’s only with friends (who have probably seen me embarrass myself much worse by now anyway).  Just pray I don’t sprain, twist, or break anything in the next month…actually just pray that I survive! 😉
