Macy just gave me the best Mother’s Day gift that she could have possibly given me…she went to sleep in her new crib without a peep! Yes, that’s right, I said crib. Her bed situation has been our nemesis since we took her out of her crib in December. The last plan I posted was that we were heading to Lowes for Doug to build a fence-type thing around her twin mattress that was on the floor. After pricing materials at Lowes we realized that it was going to cost us almost as much to do that as it would to buy another crib…and if we went with another crib then we could always sell it when we’re finished with it or buy another convertible crib and use it longer where as with the twin matress fence we would just be throwing it away when she’s ready for the next step. I wasn’t thrilled, but it made the most sense (as crazy as it is).
So after buying a 20 percent off coupon to Babies R Us on eBay (I never knew there were coupons on eBay! You can only begin to imagine my excitement.) we ordered her a new crib. Doug set it up this afternoon and we started pumping it up. Macy isn’t a fan of change when it comes to her room. One time just rearranging her furniture led to several nights of screaming at bedtime…even moving her humidifier has sent her over the edge, so Doug and I were bracing ourselves for the worst.
She threw out her friends as usual and stood up for a long time, then she finally just laid down and went to sleep. This picture is of our baby monitor and the blob in the middle of the bed is our sweet girl. I took some pictures of it before she went to bed that I’ll upload when I have a chance (like In June!).
