Doug and I gave Macy a zoo membership for Christmas this year. We were able to use it to see the lights at the zoo, but since we both work during the day and our weekends have been cold and rainy, we haven’t been able to make a trip during the day. Luckily for Macy, Katie called to see if we wanted to go with them the week after I got out of the hospital. It was a short trip because I had to get home to pump…and it was FREEZING (we practically had the zoo to ourselves though, so that was nice)! We only went in the reptile/fish and bird houses while we were there, so Macy still hasn’t seen the big animals, but she had a great time for her first trip.

Macy saw a snake “wiggle”…Mommy doesn’t smile when she sees snakes, wiggling or not!

Macy loves to wear her mittens and hat…she must hate the cold as much as I do, but the way she put her hands on the ledge cracked me up.

The fish were a huge hit because they never stop moving. I didn’t think about how hard it is to see some of the snakes and lizards in their habitats. (she got over her weird hand holding thing fast)

Zoe is Macy’s best friend. Zoe is 6 months older than Macy, so Macy wants to do everything that Zoe does. They are such opposites though. Doug says that when they get a little older Zoe is going to be out riding roller coasters while Macy is at home redecorating her doll house. 🙂

Zoe investigating the bamboo while Macy watches.

Zoe went in the bamboo and got stuck…she cracks me up! 🙂

Macy made friends with a cool bird.

On the tram back to the garden side to go home. I can’t wait until we have a little warmer weather so Macy can go back to the zoo and see some of her favorite animals.
