Happy Halloween!!

After Macy’s excitement at the costume parade, I was excited about showing off my little pirate on Halloween, but in typical Macy fashion, she changed her mind about what she wanted to be.  Originally she said that she wanted to be the “girl” pirate (you know, the other costume that she shunned, the one I had already returned to the store…yeah, that one), so I told her that she had the choice of being a ballerina or the pirate costume that she had worn at school.  She decided that she wanted to be Angelina Ballerina (who is a mouse).  Thankfully a pink shirt, tutu, and shoes transformed her enough into Angelina that she didn’t realize there was nothing mousy about her. 😉  (This is her “get on with it Mom.  I’m ready to trick or treat!” smile.  It was the last of the EIGHT pictures of her that I took in the same spot, but her eyes were either wandering or she was actually saying “hurry mommy, I want to trick or treat!”)

I had gotten a puppy costume on clearance after Halloween last year for Steven.  It’s a really cute costume, but I didn’t think he would leave the hood on because he’s not a fan of hats…obviously I don’t know my children at all because he didn’t even try to take the hood off.  Steven doesn’t stop moving when he’s outside (he hardly stops when he’s inside), so that’s why he has an “action shot”.  He was such a cute puppy!!!

Logan was the only one who didn’t throw me off my game this year.  I didn’t expect him to care what he was wearing and guess what…he didn’t! Ahhh, the ease of dressing a 3 month old. 😉  (He still gives my camera the “stranger danger” stare.)

We started the night with a nutritious dinner of pumpkins in the grass and flying bats.

Unfortunately, our much anticipated night of fun was cut short.  Macy was spooked by a neighbor in a mask (who didn’t mean to scare her so badly) and she was done.  We trick or treated at 1 house. 🙁  Hopefully next year’s trick or treating will be a little more successful.
