A Yuck and a Yumm

Steven has been learning to speak his mind a lot more these days (when he can get a word in).  I’ll post more later about the words that he’s been practicing lately, but one of the words he’s mastered is “yuck”.  I’ve been saying “yuck” whenever he puts something in his mouth that shouldn’t be there…which happens a lot.  While we were eating lunch on Easter, mom let Steven try some of Doug’s incredible mashed potatoes.  Steven wasn’t a fan.  He made horrible faces and tried his best to spit his bite out.  Since I’m a fan of photographing my kids’ disgust towards certain foods, I grabbed my camera to record the moment.  As soon as Steven got all of the potatoes out of his mouth, he looked at me and said, “yuck!”  It was the first time he’d ever said it without me saying it first…it was priceless!!  (By the way, Macy didn’t like Doug’s potatoes when she was younger either and now she would eat them all day, so there’s still hope for Steven ;))

He was so proud of his new word!

I think it was later that night when one of our neighbors brought over chocolate chip cookies (I’m starting to wonder if anyone else in the culdesac gets as many treats as we do…we’re very spoiled by our neighbors).  Macy had a cookie after dinner (I quickly stripped off her white Easter dress before I gave her the cookie…she usually eat naked ;)).  Do you think she enjoyed it?
