Macy and I had our first day at the pool on Tuesday. I was a little nervous because she loves water, but can be cautious about new things and I’m guessing that she doesn’t remember going to the pool last year. I decided to let her hold her floaties as soon as she got up (as visions of her screaming at the pool as I fought to get them on danced in my head) and to my delight she LOVED them. She saw the picture on the front of the package of a little girl swimming and was hooked! She walked around all morning with them on her arms…most of the time deflated. 🙂 (At one point she thought it would add flare to her outfit to wear her birthday hat from her 1st birthday at the same time)
I didn’t get any pictures at the pool…she was moving WAY too fast, but she had a great time! She loved being in the water and didn’t cry when she would get splashed in the face or swallow water (that was another vision I had). She hasn’t learned how to hold herself up with her floaties, so I held her while she was in the water, but she did learn how to kick while we were there! I hope we will have many more pool days this summer!
