We had a great day today celebrating our country’s independence with Macy. It was fun getting to enjoy some 4th traditions with her.

Macy got this outfit for her birthday, so she had to wear it today. 🙂

Macy took her first dip in her backyard pool today. What’s the 4th of July without a trip to the pool?

She loved playing in her pool with her duck….

and thought it was soooo cool when daddy pushed the side and made big waves!

She stayed in until she started to “prune”.

Harley was very freaked out by some daytime fireworks, so he spent our time outside under mom’s chair.

Who doesn’t love a good hooded towel? 🙂

Omie and PopPop came over for dinner. Grams and Omie didn’t think I was actually able to get both of them in the picture, so they didn’t bother scooting together. They really do love each other! 🙂

Macy and PopPop had a fun time with Macy’s baby. Macy also said PopPop’s name for the first time tonight!

We had Omie’s delicious meatball subs and potato salad for dinner. Omie also brought her famous pound cake that we turned into a festive 4th desert! (and it was SO GOOD!)

Harley and Montana ended the night with a special trip to the kitchen (Harley blends into the rug under the table). The fireworks completely freaked them out.
As much fun we have on the 4th, I hope that Macy will always know the reason for our celebration and the price paid for our independence. Happy Independence Day!!! 🙂
