Yes, I know it’s shocking that I’m actually posting on our blog, but the kids are FINALLY well and I actually have a little spare time on my hands today (spare as in I’m choosing not to do laundry and post instead). So I’m going to skip most of December and January except for the major events and start fresh in February. The kids spent most December and January sick, so there weren’t many photo ops. around here anyway…unless Steven’s breathing treatments interest you.
So, back to Christmas…
We celebrated Christmas with the Adam family the weekend before Christmas. It was fun to have some pre-Christmas festivities!
The cousins had a great time together!

Omie was also a very happy camper with all of her grandchildren around.

Beau and Macy thought dinner was yummy!

All of the kids got Zhu Zhu pets from Omie and Pop Pop. The kids LOVED them! They are actually really cute.

Elizabeth created a spaceship with Beau’s new blocks. I’m pretty sure that I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m so glad that Macy is old enough to play with her cousins. They are very sweet to her and she LOVES getting to hang out with the big kids!

A few days later, we made the trip to Mississippi. The kids were awesome (they redeemed themselves after the HORRIBLE beach trip we made this summer). The best part of the trip was that Omie and Pop Pop were able to come with us. We switched up passengers and drivers in Tuscalooga, so Omie was in the van with me and the kids for the last part of the trip…I think it saved us! The first thing we had to do when we got to Grams and Oppie’s house was see Lucy…but I don’t have any pictures of Lucy from this trip (Sorry Lucy!). The second thing we had to do was go see Oppie’s airplanes. This was the first time we’ve seen them in Dad’s hangar…Macy didn’t want to get in one, but I think she was impressed anyway. 😉

Donna and Lori K (and their hubbies) were able to come over Christmas Eve Eve for a snack supper. It was fun to be able to catch up while Eli, Macy and Steven could do their own thing. (For the record, the food was AWESOME too!) Can you believe we got a picture with all 3 kids smiling?!?!

Eli and Macy created a fun game of toss…Eli would toss the ball and then Macy would go get it and bring it back to him. Macy loved having a friend in Mississippi!

Steven was happy playing with his own ball and trying to get the bows off the presents under the tree.

Another perk to Omie and Pop Pop coming to MS was that Omie attempted to make her sausage stuffing (one of my favorites). I say attempted because I didn’t think about it until Christmas Eve and Kroger wasn’t helpful with providing us with the correct ingredients for her recipe. It was still really good though!

Christmas morning we all got up and had Jesus’ birthday cake for breakfast (thankfully a 2 year old still considers a muffin with a candle as cake…I think I’ll have to be a little more creative next year)

Once the rest of the family got to mom and dad’s Steven was ready to turn on the charm…

Such a ladies man…

We all sat down for a huge Christmas lunch.

Steven even tried some sweet potatoes, but he was still having texture issues (which I’m happy to report are almost completely gone!) so he wasn’t a fan.

After lunch, we opened gifts. Steven was a true boy with his car…

and Macy was very girly with her doll house.

Christmas night was “dirty Santa” with the Oziers. It’s always a fun night!

Do you see that beautiful leg lamp? We are now it’s proud owners. 😉 (Don’t worry Oziers, we never put it up in Steven’s window)

Macy also received a toy that I ALWAYS wanted as a child. Her very own sit n spin (which she lovingly referred to as her “spit n spin”)…I have to admit, I was a little disappointed that I didn’t fit on it. 😉

Macy also got a memory game…which had about 100 cards that you had to punch out. This girl LOVES little tasks like that! She sat and punched quietly for an hour. Now I just need to think of things like that to keep her busy at home!

While we were in Mississippi, Steven figured out how to sit up by himself and crawl, so mom and I thought the laundry basket might keep him in one spot for a while. It would have worked until he started trying to teach himself how to pull up on it! (Thankfully Doug lowered his mattress when we got home b/c he did teach himself how to pull up by our second night home! So that’s crawling, sitting, and pulling up…all in about a week and a half! I’m waiting for this little guy to take off walking any day now!)

We had a great time celebrating Jesus’ birth with our family and friends! I can’t believe that by next Christmas our family will be even larger!!!
