All I really need to write about this year’s Easter is this…
Macy hunted for eggs.
Yep, that was a theme this year. Macy had an Easter egg hunt for school, church, and family…the girl is a pro (and just a little obsessed with her eggs…kind of reminds me of that creepy “my precious” guy in Lord of the Rings). I don’t have any pictures from her egg hunt at school, but here we are at our church egg hunt…
Logan has an ear infection, so Doug stayed home with him and Omie came with us!
Even though the kids were divided into age groups, Steven was still kind of left in the dust as far as egg collection goes…little legs just can’t move as fast, so he stayed with Omie and I don’t have any pictures of his egg hunting skills. Macy, on the other hand, took off like she’d been planning her attack.
She got 16 eggs all by herself! I think part of what slowed Steven down was that he figured out that there were treats in the eggs, so he had to stop and snack after all 3 of the eggs he picked up. 🙂
After we hunted, we refueled with a cupcake.
It was a great Easter egg hunt…so much fun to watch all of the kids!
Easter morning Macy and Steven went on a different kind of Easter egg hunt to find their baskets.
I don’t have any pictures of their hunt because I was in charge of the video camera…and it’s very tricky to do both. Macy loved the hunt…Steven really didn’t understand what they were doing, so he stayed in the livingroom most of the time (smart kid…let Macy do all the work and just show up when the baskets appear). Note: the baskets ended up on the vacuum cleaner because of Steven’s obsession.
We didn’t go to church since Logan has an ear infection and is still trying to kick the cold that caused it, so after the kids found their baskets we went to Omie and PopPop’s house for lunch. I wish I had gotten a family picture with us all dressed up…sooo tricky…maybe next year. Lunch was incredible…and as usual was followed by the traditional lamb cake.
Logan was ready to dive in!
Doug went into a deep carb sleep after lunch. 😉
The kids went outside to hunt more eggs. Macy was racing around grabbing as many eggs as possible while Steven ate the treat out of each egg he picked up before he looked for another one.
Mom is here because she is riding back to Mississippi with the kids and I for spring break. We were happy to have her here for Easter (Logan was happy to have her as a pillow for his nap)!
We had a great Easter celebrating our risen Lord!!
*As a side note, can I point out that I’m posting about Easter…and it’s still Easter!! This has to be a new record for me! 🙂
