My Challenge

Today is the first day of my “no sweets” challenge that I’m setting for myself. Some people may think that not eating sweets while I’m pregnant and stuck on the couch might be a little crazy…and it just might. I’m not excited about seeing my friend chocolate disappear, but I’m very excited about challenging myself. There aren’t many ways that I can challenge myself on bed rest (other than not losing my mind)!
The terms of my challenge are:
1. The challenge will last a month (until my birthday…and I’ll be 28 weeks!)
2. I may not eat any desserts or candy made with white sugar and may not drink any sweetened with sugar or corn syrup. I am allowing myself to have treats sweetened with organic evaporated cane juice because sometimes you just NEED sweet tea.
I’ve done a white sugar free fast before that included everything with white sugar (including bread), white potatoes, bananas, and corn. I’m not going that extreme this time because (I’m pregnant and that’s just mean) we’re blessed with family and friends who are gracious enough to bring meals to us and I don’t want to make that more difficult for them in any way.
So that’s my challenge! Day 1 is going well (as most Day 1’s do). I’ll keep you posted…
