Mommy spoke too soon…

This update’s a day late, so hopefully I’ll have more news later. Logan’s feeding tube was back in when I went to nurse him yesterday at 2pm. His nurse said that he took all of his night feedings and first morning feeding well, but that he was too worn out to drink his 11am bottle… Continue reading Mommy spoke too soon…

Look Mom, no tube!

While I was visiting yesterday, Logan’s doctor said that they were going to try giving him all of his feedings by bottle (and I could nurse twice). He’d been doing well with his 4 bottles a day so it was time to make the big jump to 8. When Doug went last night his feeding… Continue reading Look Mom, no tube!

Big Boy

Logan has been moved out of his isolette and into an open air bassinet. He’s doing really well holding his temperature. It was so nice to see him in a real bed and with clothes on! He’s doing well with his bottles and is up to 4 bottle feeds a day (I can nurse during… Continue reading Big Boy

Logan's Update

Logan’s in sort of a holding pattern right now. His respiration is usually much better (today it was 30-50 while I was there), but he still has episodes where it will spike and his chest will retract like it was in the beginning. His doctor doesn’t want to start trying to bottle feed or nurse… Continue reading Logan's Update

It's Kangaroo Day!!

I went the hospital this morning to take milk for Logan and saw huge changes when I got there. His bubble is gone!!! He’s completely off oxygen and his levels are holding strong. He looked like a “normal” baby! His respiration rate was between 60 & 70 and he looked very happy and peaceful on… Continue reading It's Kangaroo Day!!

Look Who's Not Blue!

Logan’s blue lights are off (and hopefully they’ll stay that way)! His oxygen is down to 27 percent. His respiratory rate is still about the same, but I could really tell today that he wasn’t having to breathe as deeply to get a breath. They’re bumping him up to 19CCs for 4 of his feedings… Continue reading Look Who's Not Blue!

Snuggler in Training

The Special Care Nursery and NICU have little fleece beanbags that they use to help snuggle the babies into a fetal position. Doug went tonight to see Logan and sent me this picture. Logan looks like he’s snuggling with his beanbag. I love it!!

Logan's Update

Logan’s down to 34 percent oxygen. His respiratory rate is down but still inconsistent. The pneumo is almost completely gone!! His doctor said that there’s a little residual fluid left in lungs but nothing more than she expected. All labs have come back negative for infection so he’s off antibiotics. His bilirubin is down but… Continue reading Logan's Update
